Maracana Youth Development League

Join Us for the Maracana Youth Development League (MYDL)!

This exciting program complements our popular Lil’ Kickers and Skills Institute classes, giving players the opportunity to apply their skills in a fun, developmental game environment.​

Fall 2026 SEASON

  • You can jump in mid-season — each week is just $15/week

âš½ DIVISION SCHEDULE (AGE Groups)

SATURDAYS = Ages 5–7

  • (U6 & U8 Divisions)

  • Game Time: 12:15 PM – 1:15 PM

SUNDAYS = Ages 8–12

  • (U10 & U12 Divisions)

  • Game Times: 12:15 PM or 1:15 PM (rotating)

NEW: Individual Player Sign-Ups

Unlike traditional team-based leagues, MYDL allows individual players to register.

This means:

  • No need to form your own team

  • Perfect for players new to the area

  • Great opportunity to make new friends

  • Play with a variety of teammates

During the first game, we conduct evaluations and may adjust teams to ensure balanced play and the best experience for everyone. When teams are short players, guest players may sub in to help — this is normal and supports fair play.

We create balanced teams from individual sign-ups, fostering a community-oriented, developmental environment where every player can thrive.

MYDL

Age Divisions

U6 - U8 Division (Ages 5 - 7)

  • 5v5 format 

  • Focus on fun, basic motor skills, and introduction to soccer

  • Games on Saturdays, between 12:15- 1:15pm

  • Coaches on field

  • Cost: $15 per week(pro-rated) ($120 - 8 weeks)

  • Jersey separate ($30 + tax)

  • 8-weeks of games

Cost

U10 -U12 Division (Ages 8 -12)

  • 7v7 format (including goalkeeper)

  • Develop complex skills and game strategy

  • Games on Sundays, between 12-2pm

  • Coaches on field

  • Jersey separate ($30 + tax)

  • 8-weeks of games​

FAQs

  1. Q: How does individual sign-up work?
    A: Simply register your child for their age division on a house team if new, or the team they were on the past season. Before the season starts we will review and reorganize to create more balance if needed. .

  2. Q: What if my child wants to play with a friend?
    A: While we can't guarantee placement, you can note friend requests during registration. We'll do our best to accommodate while maintaining team balance.

  3. Q: Why are there no practices included in the MYDL program?
    A: The MYDL is designed as a complement to our Lil'Kickers and Skills Institute classes. The league focuses on game-based learning and skill application, allowing players to put into practice what they learn in Lil'Kickers or Skills Institute developmental classes. While the league itself doesn't include separate practices, each game day provides opportunities for warm-up, skill development focus, and practical application of soccer techniques in a fun, supportive environment.

  4. We strongly encourage players to participate in our LilKickers (for younger ages) or Skills Institute classes alongside the MYDL. These classes offer focused training sessions that align perfectly with MYDL games, creating a comprehensive development program for young players. This combination of structured training and game play provides an ideal environment for your child's soccer development.   5. Q: Does my child need to be in Lil'Kickers or Skills Institute to join MYDL?A: While it's not required, we highly recommend it for the best developmental experience.

  6. Q: What should my child bring to games?
    A: Water bottle, shinguards, and appropriate indoor tennis or indoor short turf shoes. The league jersey will be provided.

  7. Q: Is there a minimum skill level required?
    A: No, we welcome players of all skill levels and focus on individual development.

  8. Q: How do refunds work? 

    1. A. If you registered and before the league starts you realize your child will not be able to participate, you should email YouthPrograms@tucsonsoccer.com to either A. request a credit for future use, or B. Request a refund with refund fee of $20 per child. 

    2. B. If the league has already started, no refunds are available however credits are on a case-by-case basis. Please email YouthPrograms@tucsonsoccer.com to advise the team of your request.
