Women’s Indoor Soccer at Maracana

Maracana Indoor Sports Arena offers two women’s indoor soccer leagues designed for experienced players looking for fast-paced matches, community, and a great game-night atmosphere in a comfortable, climate-controlled environment.

 

Whether you’re joining our fast-paced Women’s Open League or our social-yet-competitive Women’s Over 30 League, both divisions focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and creating a fun space for women to stay active year-round.

 

After games, players are invited to hang out in our on-site social space featuring food, drinks, coffee, beer, and a welcoming post-game atmosphere with teammates and friends.

 

Fall 2026 Leagues

Monday Women’s Open League

• Designed for experienced female players ages 18+

League Details

• Day: Every Monday Nights

• Starts: August 17th

• Game Times: 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm

• Format: 6 v 6 (5 field players + goalkeeper)

• Roster: MIN - 9 players 

• Ages: 18+

• Season Dates:  (depending on number of teams)

• Cost: $80 per player

• Includes: 7 regular season games + at least 1 playoff game

Tuesday Women’s Over 30 League

• Designed for intermediate to experienced women ages 30+ looking for organized, enjoyable indoor play in a welcoming atmosphere.

League Details

• Day: Every Tuesday Night

• Game Times: 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

• Format: 6 v 6 (5 field players + goalkeeper)

• Roster: MIN - 9 players - max

• Ages: 30+

• Season Dates: July 28th - Sept. 22nd (dependent on number of teams)  

• Cost: $80 per player

• Includes: 7 regular season games + at least 1 playoff game

• Payment Plans Available: After captain registration, players may set up payment plans if needed

Membership

• Annual Maracana Membership fee waived until 2027

Jerseys & Team Uniforms

• Teams must wear matching jerseys (same color and design)

• Teams may order from any supplier they would like

• Maracana offers A4-style jerseys through THE SHOP for $15 each

• Orders should be placed within the first 2 weeks of the season (processing takes approximately 1.5 weeks)

League Rules & Policies

Check-In & Waivers

• All players must check in at the front desk

• All players must have a signed waiver on file

• Waivers renew annually

Jewelry

• No hanging jewelry permitted during games

Roster Requirements

• Teams must carry at least 9 rostered players with a max of 12 rostered players

• Minimum to start a game:

  • 4 players total

  • Must include a goalkeeper

Guest Player Rules

• Captains should avoid inviting guests if they already have 3 substitutes available

• Non-rostered guests may play by paying a $15 guest fee

• Women registered within the same league may guest play for free after front desk check-in and wristband

• Guest players are not eligible for playoffs

Women’s Over 30 Exception Rule

• Teams may roster one 29-year-old goalkeeper

• 29-year-old goalkeepers may not play as field players

Mercy Rule & Sportsmanship Play

To encourage respectful and competitive play:

• Up by 5 goals:

  • Winning team removes 1 player

• Up by 8 goals:

  • Winning team removes an additional player

• Up by 12 goals with 10 minutes remaining:

  • Referee may call a mercy rule

  • Referee exits the field

  • Teams may continue casually and mix players if desired

 

Scheduling & Rescheduling Policy

At Maracana, league schedules are carefully built in advance to maximize field space, staffing, and overall league experience.

 

Because of limited field availability, last-minute changes and makeup games are extremely difficult to accommodate.

 

Scheduling Guidelines

• Submit schedule requests at least 1 week before the season starts

• All teams are expected to play at their scheduled day and time

• Schedule change requests must be submitted at least 7 days in advance

• Schedule adjustments are not guaranteed

• Requests made within 7 days of a game are unlikely to be accommodated

• No makeup games for team availability conflicts

• Unplayed games are recorded as a 4–0 forfeit

We understand conflicts happen and will always try to help when possible, but flexibility is limited due to field demand and scheduling logistics.

Sportsmanship & Safety Indoor Rules

• No slide tackling permitted

Fighting & Violence

• Physical altercations result in immediate ejection

• Additional suspension may apply

Red Card Policy

• Player is removed for the remainder of the game

• Automatic suspension for the following game

 

Captain Responsibilities

Team captains are responsible for:

• Registering the team

• Paying their own $80 registration fee during signup

• Creating and managing the team roster

• Ensuring all players register before Week 1

• Ensuring player fees are paid by Week 1

• Updating rosters before the Week 4 roster lock

• Contacting staff for DaySmart support if needed

• Helping keep bench areas clean after games

Refund Policy

• All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

• For individual-registration leagues, league fees become non-refundable within 7 days of the first scheduled game.

• If a player in a team-registration league is replaced during the season, any reimbursement must be arranged directly between the player, replacement player, and/or team captain. Maracana Indoor Sports Arena staff and management will not facilitate or process these transactions.

• No refunds, credits, or prorated adjustments will be issued for missed games, scheduling conflicts, injuries, illnesses, voluntary withdrawals, or other personal circumstances.

• Players or teams suspended, ejected, or removed from a program due to violations of facility, league, or sportsmanship policies are not eligible for refunds, credits, or prorated adjustments.

• Maracana Indoor Sports Arena reserves the right to modify schedules, divisions, game times, formats, or facilities as necessary. Such changes do not qualify for a refund.

• If Maracana Indoor Sports Arena cancels a program before it begins, participants may receive a refund, credit, or transfer option at management's discretion.

• By registering for any league, tournament, camp, clinic, class, or event, participants acknowledge and agree to this refund policy.
